Included in the contract recommendations for board approval are various proposals for facility maintenance and enhancements. Superintendent Angela Hensley has put forth a recommendation to award the contract for the Central Services Facility Roof Replacement to Dave Loden Construction Inc. for the amount of $343,885, which will be financed through the Major Maintenance Fund. The board will review the proposal to extend the elevator service and maintenance contract with KONE Inc. for $66,900 for a second consecutive year, utilizing the CSF Custodial Operation budget.
Additionally, there is a proposal for the Fort Casper Academy Water Heater Replacement contract with GW Mechanical Inc. for $88,750, which is also supported by the Major Maintenance Fund. Furthermore, the University Park Parking Improvements contract is set for 71 Construction Inc. at a cost of $70,923.71, also funded by the Major Maintenance Fund.
The board will consider awarding the Verda James Intercom Replacement contract to HiTek Communications Inc. for a total of $123,567, which will be funded by the Major Maintenance Fund.
The board is set to review the NCSD Copier Program bid, with a recommendation to grant the award to Office Shop Inc. for $156,096.26, to be financed by the NCSD General Fund.
On the agenda are several contracts for special education services, which include a $55,000 agreement with the Child Development Center of Natrona County. The funding is sourced from the 619 Special Education Grant and is allocated for preschool screenings mandated by the district’s Child Find obligation for children aged 3 to 5. The center employs certified teachers and therapists who perform screenings to assess hearing, vision, reasoning, communication, and motor skills. These screenings assist in determining whether a potential disability impacts a child’s educational access.
A separate contract has been established with Marzano Resources for the amount of $26,900, which is financed through a School Improvement Grant. The contract offers professional development aimed at enhancing educators’ teaching strategies and elevating student achievement. Marzano’s framework emphasizes practical experience, assessment techniques, and tailored consulting and support for Professional Learning Communities, according to board documents.
The trustees will review a contract valued at $2,500,000 with several organizations, including Lakemary Center and Wyoming Behavioral Institute, for out-of-district placements aimed at supporting students with specialized behavioral and academic needs. The placements offer educational and behavioral assessments, progress tracking, and residential services.
A contract valued at $250,000 with several organizations, including Elite and Connect Speech Therapy, for related service providers is currently under consideration. This funding is sourced from the Special Education General Fund and/or VIB. These providers deliver services including occupational therapy, physical therapy, audiology, speech/language pathology, and counseling/social work to guarantee adherence to student IEPs.
The board is set to review a contract amounting to $583,315 with Universal Health Systems/Wyoming Behavioral Institute, which will be financed through several Special Education grants and the General Fund. This contract encompasses services such as the Foundations for Success therapeutic support program, transition services for homebound students, and evaluation services.
